A party and a loose tooth

know I haven't posted in a long time, sorry about that.

The other day I got to go to my friend Laura's ( http://theyoungestgirl.blogspot.com/) house for her birthday party and spend the night! Amy Jo ( http://www.amyjounderwood.blogspot.com/ ), and Scarlett (http://honoringdaddy.blogspot.com/) came too, and we had a great time :) . We dressed up, Laura's older sister Heidi took pictures of us :) .

me I really like this picture :)

We stayed up really late ( like almost 2:00 am!) and talked while watched Anne of Green Gables. In the morning we decorated the covers of composition books with stickers and scrap book paper. I thought that that was a great idea, now I just have to think of something to write about in mine :) .

Samuel has his first loose tooth!!!!!!!! Hopefully he'll pull it soon; he found out it was loose the day we left on vacation (I think that's when it was) . I think he's a little scared that it's really going to hurt. We don't believe in telling children there's a tooth fairy, but Samuel knows he'll get money from Daddy after he pulls it :) . I'll put a picture of him on here with his tooth after he pulls it.

We're Home!

Ah, home sweet home :). It rained and since we couldn't go to Silver Springs, we came home a day early. Some of the places we went in Miami were:
They had pretty good food; I got to try plantain for the first time! I think it was candied plantain, but it didn't taste that sweet.
There were palm trees everywhere! And people were everywhere too. There were bikes and motorcycles all over the place. We went to this little children's museum and had a nice time; they had some interesting exhibits. There was an albino Python and we got to touch it!!
Another restaurant we went to is a Haitian one called the Tap Tap ( a tap tap is a taxi in Haiti) . This was a special thing for Esther because she was adopted from Haiti when she was a baby. We got another chance to try plantain there, only this time it was fried. I thought it tasted like a potato so I put salt on mine :) .
In St. Petersburg, we went to the I-CAN meeting. I-CAN is for amputees to get together and talk about how to do certain things ( like, how would you eat with no arms? Or drive? ). Mostly its for Lydia since she has the most difficulty doing things independently. Anna is missing her arm, but she does just about everything on her own except tie shoes ( I think). We went on a Dolphin sightseeing Cruise with some of our friends from I-CAN! Pelicans were all over the place, ecspecially on the poles out in the water.

Aren't they so neat! I know you can't see them very well, sorry about that. They just wouldn't stay still :) .

On the way home we visited our Nana, and stayed to talk for a little while, then got supper and started driving again. In the van we watched Family Affair, a TV show that used to come on when my parents were little. We also watched Christy :) .

Still in Florida :)

We went to this fun railway museum, and rode a train for an hour and a half! I took a lot of pictures and we had a lot of fun too :) .
The train swayed back and forth, and most of the time it was very difficult to walk around. Anna and Esther liked to try though :) . The next day We drove to Miami! We also had to pay tolls :( . I took lots of pictures ( of course) through our van windows, and I've discovered that I can't take very good pictures though Samuel's window. You should see all those dirty fingerprints!
On the way up, we got to visit the place where Lydia was born, and meet a few people.

Actually, only Lydia and Mommy got to got to the NICU; we had to wait in the waiting room. There's more to say, but I'm going to bed now ;) .

In Florida

Hello from Florida! Yesterday we didn't really do much of anything except drive; we only stopped so that people could use the bathroom and eat. We ate all three meals at chick-file-a! Yesterday was Cow Appreciation Day, so we could dress up as cows and get free food. At breakfast, lunch, and supper we stopped at different chick-file-as along the way, changing in and out of our cow costumes, to get free food.
Today, we left our hotel in Jacksonville and drove to St. Augustine were we visited Fort Castillo De San Marcos .
We were going to stay and here them shoot the canon, but it was hot outside and it was time for lunch :) .Mommy wanted to take a picture of us from behind looking out towards the water

I'm glad I wasn't this guy! I like dressing up, but warm clothes in hot weather doesn't sound like a good combination to me. There were a lot of canons Tomorrow we're going to a railway museum, and we should get to ride a train!

Leaving Tomorrow!

Today we've been packing and getting things ready for our trip! Daddy and Mommy are going ahead and putting things in the van so we won't have to do everything in the morning. We have a portable DVD player that we sit up on boxes between the driver seat and the passenger seat, and since we moved car seats around, everybody should be able to see. For me to be able to sit up front like I normally do, I'll probably have to dive over the driver's seat, but its nice to be up front and hear what Daddy and Mommy are saying :) . We'll be gone for nine whole days!! I'm not sure if I'll be able to post anything while we're gone but I'll try. I promise to take LOTS of pictures and write a good long post if I'm not able to do anything while we're gone.

Look at Samuel expression!

Very exciting news!

Drum roll please............... We're going on vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!! In four days we'll be leaving in the morning for Florida! Daddy and Mommy made these little booklets for everyone ( except me because I've known about it for awhile :) so they shouldn't feel the need to ask a lot of questions :) . I thought this was a really good idea.

Happy Fourth of July!!!

I hope all of you had as good of a Fourth of July as we had! Daddy made some of his barbecue that he always makes on the Fourth of July and it was great and spicy! It smelled really good outside :) .

Our friend, Miss Bonnie, always comes to our house on the Fourth of July

A little while after Miss Bonnie got here, our Grandad and his friend Miss Dean arrived.

Making potato salad for lunch (yummy!) fixing every ones food ( the little ones sat at a small table beside the big one)Miss Bonnie brought her ice-cream maker and made us some vanilla ice cream! It was good too. I put hot fudge and strawberries on mine :) .

It was very soft, so when I put the hot fudge on it started to melt right away. Somehow it just doesn't seem as nice to have hot fudge not hot ( warm is good enough though) Grandad brought us some peas and green beans from his garden

All most everyone tried their hand at it, and we finished really quickly After that we went swimming and here's Jacob at bedtime in his patriotic pajamas :) Also a quick bible reading progress report. We've finished Exodus and read the first three chapters in Leviticus, but Daddy decided to skip way ahead and read the book of Mark. Since the first chapter in Mark is long, he only read part of it tonight. It was about the baptising of Jesus by John the Baptist, and we had just started to get to the part were Jesus is in the desert being tempted by Satan.

My New Camera!!!

Last night Daddy and I went to Best Buy and bought a Nikon CoolPix P90!! It was expensive ( $399), but it has a lot of neat features. Anna's probably really happy I got a new camera because I gave her my old one :) . So far the pictures I've taken inside aren't as good as the ones outside but I'm still figuring out how every thing works :).

I think dragonflies are kind of cute, and they're also good because they eat mosquitoes :) .
