A Busy Weekend

Last week, we drove up to our Granddad's house, ate supper with him, visited, and then went to a hotel. The next day we visited with him some more and then went home. The day after that, we stayed home in the morning ( except for Daddy he went to go visit our Nana), then left in the afternoon. This time we were going to a celebration For the minister of music at Immanuel Baptist Church ( a church our family used to go to). He's been serving there for twenty-five years, and they're going to send him and his wife to Israel!

Donuts and report cards

Krispy Kreme Donuts has a deal where if you take your report cards in you can get free donuts. Any kind!! They gave the little ones hats, and us school aged girls got five donuts each. We can go back some other time with the rest of our report cards and get more!!(yummy!)

My first post!

Lately, I've been trying to put together a Regency dress ( Jane Austen type dress), and I was going along pretty well, until I got to the part where it was time to put the sleeves on. I didn't have enough fabric to do the sleeves, so I attempted to make it sleeveless. I needed Mommy's help, but she didn't know what to do either. So, we called someone, and to make a long story short, some seam-ripping has to be done. At http://www.sensibility.com/, there's a young designers contest where you can create a pattern based on a historical costume, and actually have it published! The contest lasts until Dec.1, 2010, so I have a long time. I already have a design, though. The prize is $150 and ten copies of your pattern. There's more information and the official rules on the website.
