This week, Momma was called for jury duty, so I've been playing mommy for a few days. :) For the most part, things have been going pretty smoothly. Today, Daddy stayed home from work to take Jacob to a doctor appointment and decided to take Samuel with him, so right now it's (somewhat) quiet. Anna and Lydia are watching Seabiscuit, and I think Esther's in her room.
A few days ago we went swimming for the first time this year!!!!!
Momma tried to make our swimsuits, but it didn't work out to well, so we ordered them from Meant to be Modest (a site that I hadn't heard about before). On Saturday morning, Momma and I took a LONG walk and got very hot and sweaty. A blue dragonfly decided that my shoulder was a great place to rest! He stayed on my sleeve for a quite a while. It was neat. :) When we got home, I put on my swimsuit and jumped in to the the cool, refreshing water and Momma showed me how to vacuum the pool.

A Birthday and a Giveaway
Jacob turned four yesterday! It was very bittersweet, and I'm really missing having a baby around the house. I suppose that after he's big enough to indignantly say, "I'm not a baby!!" that he really isn't one anymore though. :)
Here's some pictures of when he was a baby:

And now for the giveaway part:
Livvy at A Daughters Heart is giving away an e-pattern from the newly re-launched Sense and Sensibility site! Doesn't it look great (the website I mean)? Hurry because it ends tonight!

Gofee
A couple of days ago, Anna found a Gopher turtle in the backyard under a rose plant.Isn't he neat?!
Samuel put him in a box, and we watched him (I'm just guessing it's a he) for a while. Daddy said it was illegal to keep Gofee though, so we had to let him go.
Momma painted some pink dots on his back so we know for sure it's the same turtle if he comes back.
Gofee was very eager to get out of the box!

My new dress!
I used a tutorial from Ruffles and Stuff to make this dress:
I didn't follow it exactly, but it turned out about the same. I got the fabric cheap at JoAnn's a while back in their clearance section, and really didn't know for sure what I was going to do with it (I like having a fabric stash though!). Last week, I decided to make the Lemonade dress with it, and used a blue t-shirt with a bleached out spot near the hem as the top of the dress. The hardest part for me was getting the skirt to match up with the shirt, but it turned out alright in the end.I wanted the waist to come a little higher than the one in the tutorial (and that spot was there), so I cut off the bottom of the shirt and used it to make the flower. :) I'm thinking about putting a few more around the neck. What do you think?
