After being gone for nearly six weeks, it's so wonderful to be home and see my family again. It's funny the things that you notice after being away for a long time. Ah.. our clock on the wall. Our nice white counter. Our pretty living room. Talking on the phone to my family is not nearly as good as being with them.



The people we visited now have another sweet boy!! The mother was in labor for three days (she's a strong lady), but the baby never dropped, so she had a c-section. Although we prayed for a natural birth, the Lord was taking care of her by allowing the c-section to happen, because they discovered that she was bleeding inside, and didn't have much time left. So, to make a long story short, she almost died and is still recovering from the c-section, and on top of that the second surgery to find an stop the bleeding ( Prayers for their family would be very much appreciated!).  They still need help, but we needed to come home.  Daddy said it was going to be a long time before he let us go anywhere that long or that far again. :)





Oregon snow



We're Here!

Anna and I are here in Oregon! We just finished enjoying smores out on the deck and reading Chapters six and seven in Isaiah. The three little boys are so sweet, and the oldest really likes being with Anna.  :)

The plane ride was nice, but a bit tiring. We flew from New Orleans to Salt Lake City, and from there flew to Portland. By the time we got to their house it was, I think, around one or two in the morning their time.

We're staying busy and having a wonderful time!

Little Amys

A few years ago, our family was so blessed to have a stay- at- home daughter come and baby-sit for us. Amy and her sister Anna even stayed with us while our parents were away for Lydia's  surgeries.  She was such a wonderful example of a godly woman for us, and we're so thankful to her, and her family.


     Now, Anna and I have the opportunity to go be "little Amys" for some friends in Oregon! They have three little boys (the oldest is four), and one more coming soon. The mother had to have a C-section for all of her children, but she's hoping that won't be necessary this time, so please pray for her. This is a big deal for us, because we've never been away from home for so long (we'll be back in December). Hopefully Anna and I won't get to home sick. :)  We'll be leaving in just a few days, and we're so excited!

  I'm not sure if I'll be able to blog or not, but I think I'm taking my laptop, so maybe. :)

The Old Fashioned Picnic

At the beginning of this month, Daddy and I went  to Georgia for an old fashioned picnic hosted by Mia and her family.  I enjoy reading her blog Aspiring Homemaker, and we had a lovely time.

We had to get up SUPER early to be there on time, but it was completely worth it.  The drive was enjoyable, mostly because I got to spend time with Daddy. :)

Back home, the other children had a picnic too!

Esther's birthday

                                  Saturday was Esther's ninth birthday!



  One of the things she got was a pair of  white and purple roller skates, which her and Anna have been riding all around the house lately.

Mind Growing :)

Okay, I know it's been ages since I posted, but I have some good excuses!

1. We had two birthdays in August.

2. We had company for ten days (which was really fun).

3. I haven't been very inspired.

But now I have something to say. So, here you go. :)

A few weeks ago, I turned fifteen. Oh my. Looking over my fourteenth year, I don't think I made much progress in anything really worthwhile, and wasted a lot of time that could be spent doing other, more purposeful things. I'm beginning to understand more and more that life is a battlefield, and that I shouldn't waste my time (which really isn't my time anyway) on petty, useless things, even if everyone does. In this season in life, I have the time to do things that I may not be able to do later (like, Lord willing, when I'm a Momma and busier than I ever thought possible). So, one of the things I want to make sure to do while I have time is lots of is reading. this is my goal (minus the one on the end; that's audio). Momma put books she wants me to read on the shelf, and then I added some.

Also, here's some Cd's I'm planing on listening to.

Daddy's going to have to go back to work in a few days. *sniffle* It's been really nice having him home all the time. :)

Whats Been going on...

Daddy went to the hospital and had surgery done on his shoulder the other day. It's been hurting since he's come home, and he can't really do anything with that arm, but he doesn't have to go back to work for several weeks!! We're so happy to have Daddy home!

Momma had a birthday...

We've been watching the Duggars (We had only seen one from a long time ago, so this was fun)...



And we went to the Explorium! (haha)

This year I'm entering the HSLDA photo contest, and the theme for my category was "as useless as a chocolate teapot". I had no idea what to take a picture of, so Momma suggested dust. Anna went under someones bed got me a nice handful of dust that I squished it into the shape of a little bunny. :)
