Our Surprise

Well, the special surprise is here.  On Friday, we welcomed a new member to our family!

       Of course she's not really a new family member, but we've never had her live at our house before. Nana has been in an assisted living facility for several years, but Daddy and Momma felt like it was right to have her here with us instead.

 Just about everyone pitched in, carrying things to the moving truck, guarding the side door (so people who were supposed to stay in didn't come out), and packing boxes.

      Everyone stayed up late on Friday night unpacking the U-haul truck and organizing her things. Momma and I are still working on her clothes, which she has in abundance!!

         Nana is such a blessing, and we all love her very much. She's especially popular with Jacob right now, who is following her around almost constantly.

    Since I said we had a surprise, I considered saying as an April fool's joke that we were going to get another baby.  After thinking about it a bit though, I decided that it might not be such a good idea. :)

  
       

         

Happy Birthday Lydia

                                                         Today is Lydia's sixth birthday!
                                      

                                                                
                                                                   We love her lots.

       Lydia is very tenderhearted, with a bright and sunny personality. She inspires people we don't even know with the differences that God has made her with. By overcoming the next challenge (learning talk without a lower jaw, using the bathroom with no hands etc.) she can bring glory to His name though her patience and diligence. She wasn't a mess up. Lydia was made just perfect. :)

                    Today, we took all the toys out of the boys' room and play room,

                             and dumped them in the middle of the living room floor.

                              A lot of things were thrown away, but some made it to the get rid of boxes.

It may not look like much, but these are pretty big boxes!

           The toy room (a.k.a foyer) is looking much cleaner. If someone unexpectedly rings our doorbell, maybe we'll be able to get though easily this time (That would be really nice).

I just tried to get a photo of the finished result, but all the cameras have dead batteries, so I'll try to post one tomorrow.  :)

Busy....

I know, It's been ages since I posted!  In the past few weeks,  I've been doing a lot of brother/sister watching. Momma has worked hard to meet a house-painting deadline she set for herself. She quickly finished painting a hallway, a bedroom, several doors and one of the bathrooms. Primed doors are so dark compared to the bright whiteness of painted doors! Mommy did a wonderful job, and it all looks great. :)

   
        Momma, Anna and Lydia went to Birmingham for two days. Anna is nearly blind in one eye, so she has started doing eye therapy.  Every month, Anna goes for therapy sessions, and  Dr. Snider checks on her eyes to see how she's progressing.

There are flowers all over the place! It smells so yummy and sweet when I ride, or walk, around our neighborhood.

Lydia's New Leg

      By special request from a friend, here's a picture of Lydia-Badidia's new leg:

The new leg has a squishy pad in the bottom of the socket (the cup-like top part), which makes it more comfortable for her to wear.

And here's the old one:

I think the purple one is much more fun, but she wanted skin color this time.  That surprised us, because her favorite colors are purple and pink. She says, though, that purple is still her most favorite color. She just likes pink a Little bit :)

Anna's Glasses

                                                  A couple of days ago Anna got glasses!

  She didn't really like the idea of glasses at first, but now that she's had them a bit, I think she's changed her mind.
